Default Driveshaft - 03 Discovery II

My drive shaft in my 03 Discovery needs replacing. Is there a shop in Atlanta that would have one in inventory, if not, any good options for finding one on line?

I'm under the impression that a driveshaft should be around $400 or $500. Also check salvage yards. A driveshaft can handle a whole lot of miles.

What is wrong with yours?

Wow. You can do this yourself. That is about $1000 too much.

The dealer said my U-joints are failing which based upon what I have read is a common theme.

This isn't true for a D2 because of the proximity to the catalytic converters which give off a ton of heat. I would never use a junk yard unit except in a pinch.

D2 shafts have to be retrofitted with greasable u-joints (aftermarket already have them) and they have to be regreased at every oil change.
