Default RE: Drop-In Angle

I have the CDL nipple, but I have yet to engage it. Just last week I was able to finally get the t-case shifter from an '04, so in the next few weeks I hope to have the time to get it installed. What "rut at the top" are you talking about? Are you afraid you might high center the truck? Just remember to take it slow, the stock rear bumper is like a big scoop if it drags on the ground. I can tell you're just itching to get over that hill. I think you've said you don't have the owner's handbook so here are the angles per the '01 MY. Also, the illustration (in the manual) is without the front brushguard, so that will lower the angle a little. If you look at the lower part of the brushguard you can see how close I got to the ground going through the mud pit.

Approach Angle-
w/ coil spring suspension 30.9
w/ SLS 31.2

Departure Angle (with tow hitch)-
w/ coil spring suspension 18.8
w/ SLS 18.1
w/ SLS raised 21.0

Departure Angle (without tow hitch)-
w/ coil spring suspension 21.1
w/ SLS 21.4
w/ SLS raised (not listed)

Yeah, at the top there is a ditch/rut thing, but its pretty loose so its nothing that a shovel cant fix. My guess by looking at it, its about a 50-55 degree angle. I just can get over how it feels just to park on it, the feeling of point toward the sky or straight toward the ground it crazy, it feels like I am going to tip forward but I dont think that would happen. I'll let you guys know how its goes, and take a vid. I am looking foward to it!!

Have someone spot you and drive smart, you'll probably be fine, if you have the tires for it.
