Default At what angle...

How steep (in degrees) can we approach a hill from the side? You see them do it at Land Rover events and stuff and I want to know how far I can push it before I try it out myself. Obviously straight on we can go pretty steep but from the side i'm curious to know!

THANKS!

40% grade. That is without anything on the roof.
The track at the dealer is 38% and it feels like you are going to tip over.

Whatever you do, don't steer it upwards while moving on that type of grade!

Holy crap, you ain't kidding about the disco feeling like it's tipping over on the dealer track. My salesmen paked on that grade and asked me to get out and see that the doors aren't binding (sales gimmic to show the rigidity of the Rover). I was sitting on the down hill side. I told him I wasn't getting my fat *ss out off the truck cos as soon as I opened the door and put my legs out the door I was convinced it was going over!

Did you guys ever see the white LR3 that a salesman rolled last year on the course? Made all the web sites for a while.

HAHA I didnt see that, but I can imagine it would be pretty embarrassing! So my other question is, when you are on the banking would it be dangerous to get out of the truck?

At that angle I wouldnt disrupt anything. Who knows, opening the door on the down side might be enough weight shift to send it over.

The angle is also dependent on the condition of your suspension, with age it loose the ability to get it up as easy without falling over. Good firm suspension makes all the differences.

Happens to the best of us. Luckily there are fixes...
