Easy straightforward way to add transmission fluid?
Used a pump similiar to this one, it screws onto a quart container and has a hose that goes into trans opening.

The vehicle has to be running to fill. I usually put the discovery on jackstand and have rear, ever-so slightly, lower than the front, fill under fluid comes out (have a drain pan in place) and then raise the rear until a small 1/8 stream is eventually all that is coming out.

I always use a standard kerosene pump/siphon pump. The clear kind with the orange bulb that you squeeze. I use it for trans, transfer case, and differentials. A little slow for gear oil but perfect for trans fluid. Plus, they're like $4 at Lowe's.
A DI dipstick tube does not fit a DII oil pan.
