Getting a Disco belt is already hard enough on short notice (I feel bad for you ACE guys) . Having some custom belt is just asking for a bad day.

Update: some changes.
With dc. controller, I was getting the exact temps that I wanted, on/off road driving. Only downside is that I am only getting 2 minutes of pump activation after engine is turned off. This is usually fine for everyday heat soak combat. Off road/ in town driving heat # is showing that I need a bit more.
So I just swapped out my operation from the adjustable controller to a conventional thermatic switch ( on at 195 off at 185)
I expect slightly less stable on road temps, but more ability to eliminate the soak. So I still have manual override, but no longer is the pump able to pulse or have slower speeds determined by the fancy controller. It's on full speed or off. Engine/controller no longer has bearing on time or op speed. $200 fancy pants controller is being sidelined for a $60 set up. Live and learn!
350mile round trip today should be enough to test out new set up.

Good luck on the test trip. Better pack the 10 speed huffy for the worse case scenario.

does that mean you are still in hybrid mode instead of the electric pump only?

yep just supplemental.
mechanical pump does fine on road. 182-195, by itself.....on road only.
crawling around it has trouble......gets up to 210, then there is the heat soak.

Feeling the new switch is the way to go. The adjustable expensive one doesn't work as well in a supplemental set up.
100 degree temps + 195/185 switch = usually not on , at all during normal driving, just after I shut engine off and temp rises. It them will run full speed and quickly drop the temp.

A bit of off road and it worked better in those situations. Slow Steep climbs that push temps have been alleviated with the "full on" switch.

Better set up, IMO, for supplemental is the standard on/off temp switch.
The advanced switch would probably work best of I were to dump the mechanical water pump

Dusty you know I am always lurking around and half understanding what you say. I aped your electric fan setup (though they are allegedly sending me a "stage 4" high capacity single fan rather than dual) and probably some other things and now I want to ape this. I'm in Longview (just down the interstate) so I have the same cooling issues.

Could you put your thoughts, purchases, and pictures in a neat little package that a four year old can understand?

Also and beside the point do you know anyone who can help me pinpoint my three amigos?

Best,

Charlie

i'd be happy to compose a clean photo documentation of the whole thing. should be easy enough, I have to put it all back together anyway.

what are you reading the abs codes with? what are you getting? I have a nanocom and an amigo. I can put the amigo in the box if you need it.
