Default Electrical problems

[hr]Hey guys.

saw ya forum and thort i'd ask for some help. My dad has a Disco (P reg), and following a knock, had to have the front left wing and light units replaced. After a short while, a few things began to happen.
When the brake pedal is pressed the headlights come on as well as the brake lights, and if the headlights are on, then he can turn the ignition barrel to 'off' and take the key out - but it keeps running! [&:]

The brake bulbs had gone so went to replace them today and wit the new ones in, they still aint lighting and the fuse is fine - but the headlights now dont come on when the pedal is pressed. This has left me completely baffled and i'm sorry if my attempt to describe these problems has confused anyone but...lol, iv tried ma best to describe as it is.

I dont know if anyone has any idea on what may be wrong or had these problems themself, but any suggestions would be appreciated.

Cheers!

Default RE: Electrical problems

If this is a DII someone forgot to reconnect all the ground wires located in the LF behind the headlight.( In front of the air filter housing). Two studs they should both have grounds attached and need to be tight.
Critical ground point for ABS and Lighting.
Issues like this are caused buy components hunting for a ground through other components, because they dont have a good ground.
go back to where someone messed with it last, and you'll find it.
PS ; check all ground connections if that one is not it

Cheers m8! Have played with the brake bulbs and one of the holders had melted![] i think it was sparking coz the holder's contacts were blue and the bulb had a chunk outta the contact. But all seems to be working. Will check those grounds tho! thanks! [sm=smiley20.gif]
