Default Emergency Expansion Tank Repair!

ok well here we go again! lol. had that nipple on the expansion tank break off in traffic... anyway i ordered a rplacment coming hopefully tomorrow if shipping is on time but til then i thought maybe i can do a quick repair if anything a learning experience... if it holds ill keep the new one as spare.. so here is what Ive done... broke off the old nib and carefully drilled out the opening on tank with 3/8" bit.. flushed it out to make sure but this cant of plastic doesnt make a lot of chips and was quite thick... then i went to OREILLEYS auto and picked up a nylon hose fitting for a buck or 2 and cur one end off and dressed it with a little sand paper to help epoxy.. coated it with the epoxy and fit it in the hole and it is very stiff and snug compared to the one that was on the tank... also my hose does fit on it... here is a few pics.... NOTE the barbs were same on both sides and this is after I cur off one side so it would smoothly go into tank and also would not go up too high if that matters... still plenty of reach...

Looks good, but better yet just clean up where the nipple was and plug the hole in the bottom of the reservoir with a screw wrapped in Teflon tape if you like. Then plug the line going to the throttle body heater. It's a useless circuit in the cooling system design.

hmm I was considering that however i have already bypassed that and it just terminates into top of the block.. can that also be blocked off? thanks! id liek to just plug it at the block but i gues I have to take of a/c or alternator to get to it.. not a big deal but just more than had planned when I got up this am lol

nice! well so far my fix seems to be doing very well and I also have the inline mod and yeah dont see need but its there for now... when the 70% cheap plastic hose breaks Ill just block off the entire mess

HA! While I was in there I noticed my throttle cable and cruise control cables with slackin.. I made some adjustments and WOW its all peppy again like I remember when I got it! Ive kind of overlooked that aspect lol
