Can somebody please assist me? my LR DISCO II cranks in key position II, electric windows are not working and gear indicator position wrong.

 

Recently I had problem with my key and wont start the car. I used a contact cleaner, insert the straw inside and sprayed really well until it started to drip.

The problem is the key cylinder. They get worn. All my trucks have a sweet spots to get electrical working. Valet people cant even start it sometimes. One, i had to start it then turn the key back to get the electrical working. 2nd, had to mive key to all direction to start it. 3rd had to pull key 1/8 if inch so it can start.

 

It's most likely the actual electronic switch behind the lock cylinder. It plugs directly into the fuse block under the dash. I grabbed a spare at the pick n pull for 5.00.
