Question Engine died, no spark, towed home, engine started... Anyone have this issue?

Driving last night, the truck was running just fine. As I pulled to a stop at intersection, the Disco II with P38 engine in it just cut off. It didnt sputter or anything. So I had my friend turn the engine over while I checked for a spark from the plugs and i didnt see any. So without spark i assumed there is an issue in the computer or something. So I called AAA to tow it home. Once home, I turned it over for a joke with the Tow Truck driver and it cranked right up and ran fine..

Has anyone experienced this issue?? Is this a precursor to a bigger problem looming?
Thanks guys!

a typical crank position sensor, when failing, will act up while warm. works better when cold

Put a scanner on it and see if you get an RPM reading, if No it needs a cps

Replace the Crank Sensor.
It will save you from future towing bills.

At least then get AAA towing insurance.
Don't drive a Rover without it.

Don't say thank you until after you've replaced the CKP.

It's temperature related by the sound of it so IMO either crank sensor or coil pack but being these are split x2 it's unlikely both coil packs have failed simultaneously so it looks like the CSS is flunking when hot if it restarts when having cooled.
