Default Engine Immobilized

It started when I pulled into pick my son up from school-- Put the truck in P and turned the ignition off----OR SO I THOUGHT! as i put the key in my pocket I noticed the truck still running, albeit w/o and accesories (a/c, radio, etc) So i put the key back into the ignition and turned to the on position-engine still ran and all accesories came back on---went to turn the ignitin off again and it was still running. GRRRRRRR!

Called my indie just as he was leaving and told me to drive home, open hood and trip the Immobilizer to shut the engine down, then take the neg terminal off battery and tow the thing to him Monday. GRRRRRRR!

I know that i will need a new ignition swith, right? BUT is there anyway possible to bypass the immobilizer myself?

Thanks friends!!!!

There have been some write ups on this and other sites about this. I believe the immobilizer spider module is just about center inside the dash. There is a way to access it, and jumper the specific points that disable the starter, leaving alarm functions in tact. May be more difficult in D2.
