Default engine knock

Hey everyone I have a 2002 disco just hit 70k and this mornig when I started my truck it sounded like a powerstroke diesel it knocks bad oil pressure light doesn't come on. I changed the oil about 1500 miles ago with mobil 1 10/40 synthetic plus a lucas synthetic oil additive wich is what's really weird it never knocked before. And the night before it ran perfect I just don't understand it makes no sence to me. Any ideas?

Does it still knock after it is warm? Or only when cold?
I would not use the Lucas oil additive, you are already using full synthetic, if your oil is not good enough then you need a new oil.

I haven't let it run for more than 5 seconds at a time I don't want to cause permanent damage. It sound like a rod knock but I don't understand how it could be running fine than the next morning it has a rod knock. I'm so frustrated

What was the temperature outside when you cranked it in the morning and it made the knocking sound. Did it knock at idle in Park or only when you put it in gear.????

Spike555 is right, you should not add Lucas to your synthetic oil. Viscosity becomes an issue.

I have seen this problem on a 1998 D1. The knock happened when temps were below 30 F / oil used (15 W 40) / engine cold and after it was put in gear. Shifting to 5 w 30 synthetic cured the problem.

It wasn't that cold I've started it before in colder weather and no problems. Never took it out of park. Could a flex plate couse this?

I would not start it again, have it towed to a shop, let them check the oil PSI and what ever else they see fit.

I doubt it is the flex plate bolts holding the torque converter.

If it knocked at idle in Park then Spike gave you the right advice. Tow it and have it checked.
