As for a TD5 engine, brilliant engine and I can't fault it but I believe it wasn't sold in the US and is banned in many states. If you went down the TD5 route you'll need matching engine, turbo, ECU and gearbox and maybe check the diff ratios for compatibility. Just a few other things, you'll need a total TD5 exhaust system and maybe a TD5 engine wiring loom.
crazily, the LS swap is less intensive than switch to the td5.
It's a rough time for an engine swap, shortage of respectable rv8 builders and no install network for the trailhead LS solution makes it a tough deal if you need an engine NOW.

Actually the engines are pretty reasonable. I could build a long block from Turner, and probably come out ahead due to conversion rates.

We have until June to get this taken care. Would be nice to have it a lot sooner to fix any potential issues should there be any.

Looks like we'll be ordering an engine from Turner. I've been talking with them for the last couple days, and have fill in the blanks for me. Essentially we'll be getting a long block from them with a few more parts as add-ons.

Good for you. I got a Cannibal V* motor (about to do a write up review) long story short, leaking oil in two spots ans Steve Johnson will not return a phone call....ALL UNDER WARRANTY...

I'm very sorry to hear that. Hearing things like this is what made us uneasy. My wife made the executive decision to cancel, and seek other options.

I just pulled the trigger on an engine from Turner. Looks like it'll be shipping mid next week.

You'll love the engine. Did you get the upgraded Cam? I had my heads redecked before I got mine or I would have done the gas flowed cylinder heads, too.

The motor is much livelier than my old stock engine.

I was on the fences about getting the Kent cam, and gas flowed heads. At the last minute we decided to not go that route since we figured a new engine would be good enough for us.

I was a little hesitant about sending funds to them since you can only do a wire transfer. Was a bit difficult to send that kind of money oversea's, but I'm sure it'll be worth it.
