Default engine turns off

sometimes, when i start the rover , hot or cold, it will run for about 2 seconds and then turn off. i turn it on again and it runs but kinda sluggish, sorta like its gasping for air. the sluggish-ness goes away after a rev the engine a bit.

i suspect the fuel filter needs replacement. has this happened to anyone before?

113ish miles on the clock. 95disco

i would venture a guess at a clogged filter. when was it last changed?

i dunno when it was last changed. the fuel filter will be changed, whether or not this problem is related to the fuel filter. i just wanted to know if someone had run into a problem like this and what resolved it.

Change your filter, this could be your problem and is pretty common.
Since it hasn't been changed for awhile you will need to spray the fittings to remove the filter.
If the problem still happens then you may have a valve in the fuel pump failing which will cause the fuel pressure, in the rail, to bleed of when not running.

You can buy the fuel filter at Wal-Mart for $15.
