Default Factory Side Runner Bolts

I took the side runners (side step) off my old D2 before selling it and want to reinstall them on a new D2 I bought, but can't find the distance/spacer bolts that fit them to the frame. Anyone know where I can find them?

I included a picture of them for reference.

I don't have a source for you, but you could probably make some out of some all thread and some nuts.

I was faced with this issue many, many years ago when the male end of one on my truck sheared off. I was fortunate to buy one from a salvage source, but as Alex_M suggests, I looked into making a substitute using some threaded rod and some nuts.

The challenge, of course, is replicating the female end of the piece which is not shown in the drawings. A standard-size nut isn't deep enough, but a coupling nut like the one linked below should work.

Luckily, if I recall correctly, the threads are 3/8 x 16. Just cut some 3/8 x 16 threaded rod and run a couple of these plus whatever regular nuts are needed to get it to the required length.

If I'm not recalling the thread pitch correctly you may be able to find metric equivalents, or probably better yet, replace the bolt at the top end onto which the piece threads.

I'll give that a try, thanks. I actually have three of the four, just missing one, so I should be able to match it up with that. I was thinking about just replacing the whole bolt too. I'll have to take a look again to see why I opted against it in the first place.

I got it done with M10x1.5 extensions. Looks like what aftermarket kits are using too. Thanks again for the suggestion.

Also, the bolts can't be remove because there isn't enough room to get the bolt out, or in, at the top.

Thanks again.
