Failed Inspection Help

I have failed an inspection twice now, both times with the same issue.
The issue is that 2 of the OBD Monitor tests are failing but with no error or error code. The 2 tests are these:
1. Catalyst Monitor
2. Evaporative System Monitor
Both just show a result of "Not Ready" and that is why I fail. The guy at the station said to drive it for awhile and then try again, I drove about 30 miles today and still failed. Now he tells me to drive it 50 miles instead.
Any other ideas or suggestions before I spend an hour on the highway?
Thanks.

Did you reset some trouble codes or disconnect the battery lately?
A quick net-search showed that some OBDII equipped cars go into a "not ready" status where I guess they are calibrating again after a reset. Apparently, it takes quite a bit to get them "ready" again. Lots of mixed driving stuff at different speeds, with braking, etc. A simple 300 mile freeway run isn't going to cut it. One hit on a subaru forum said it took the guy over 100 miles and 3 trips to the inspector before it cleared.
Not sure if that applies to the Disco, but most OBDII routines are the same between vehicles so that standard readers can read them.
Luckily for me, we don't have emissions testing (yet, knock on wood) so I only have to worry about the safety components. I still keep my emissions up to snuff for MPG and engine protection purposes (a clogged cat from a bad O2 sensor causing the motor to run rich will not only lower you MPG but also potentially do damage to the motor due to back pressure).

Awesome, thanks everyone!
I got my heads done when I bought the truck last year, but I did just put on new valve cover gaskets about a week ago and battery was disconnected.
I haven't had any codes in months except that gas cap code once, maybe 3 months ago. Guys at inspection shop said I have 30 days so I'll take it in next week or as soon as I put on enough miles.
