Why? It helps with airflow through the radiator.

 

Installed a larger radiator. It didn't fit the shroud. Too tall. cut the top out. Left the sides and bottom.

 

Anyone know of a metal fan that fits the Hayden severe duty ? Not too keen on having the plastic fan blow apart. I'm reading on the BMW Audi threads from old timers this didn't happen until after the fan makers switched to plastic.

 

I’ve yet to have a plastic fan blade blow apart. Get a new 620-112 & just inspect it say twice a year.
