The fault trifecta; ABS, HDC, TC lights
I'm a new Disco owner (03) and was happy with my recent purchase until I found that the sleazy dealer I bought the car from taped over all the fault lights on the dash! That is another story for another day.... (out of state purchase)
I just want to get this thing working. The check engine light is for an O2 sensor- no big deal.
The ABS, HDC, and TC light have me worried. The lights went out temporarily for awhile, but that was short lived. The pads are somewhat worn and from what ive read on the threads might have something to do with my problem. Or maybe its more major and thats the reason somebody dumped itat an auto auction. From what I've read, any noise from screeching brakes might fault the system. Do you guys have better luck with semi-metallic or ceramic pads? Do you always replace rotors with pads on these vehicles? Unfortunately I've only had this car for a week and don't know much about the history. Thanks in advance for your help!

That really sucks about that dealer. What you have are the 3 amigos. Do a search here, there's a lot of info for it and can be expensive to repair.
If the pads are worn I would start by replacing them. On each wheel.
Also clean the ABS sensors with brake cleaner after you replace the pads.
Then wait a week and see what happens.

As a side note, whatever state you bought the truck in contact that states attorney and give them the name, numberand address of the dealership that you bought the truck from.
There are laws against this sort of thing.
