Default HELP! On Programming New Key With The Nanocom

Hi!

Would appreciate any help on programming a spare key for my Disco 2 TD5 Year 2000.

I recently purchased a key off eBay and it came with a tag with 2 sets of barcodes with numbers (15 digits).

I understand that to program a key with the Nanocom, I will need a 6 digit code.

From what I gather thru the forums, the 6 digit code can be found on a sticker at the back of the circuit board. I've opened and checked and it's not there.

Also, as stated by some of the forum members, the 6 digit code is actually the 2nd, 3rd, 4th and so forth digits from the 15 digit code. Fro example, if the 15 digit code was 1234567890ADEFG, then the 6 digit code would be 234567.

Tried using the 6 digit code derived from the 15 digit supplied with the key but no joy. I followed the steps in the "How to program key using Nanocom" video to the letter. Nanocom support staff was of no help!

Any suggestions? Thanks!

My Valeo key barcodes look like the following. The first string starting with (*N) and ending in (.F) in the middle of the barcodes is the string you need. If you're certain you did it right with Nanocom and that nothing works I would suggest the seller is cheating people. Is it a Valeo key for a Discovery2?

The sticker on the back of my fob circuit board(buttons side) looks like this

Thanks for the reply!

I did try with the barcodes provided with the key:

N047442047441FF

The codes I used 047442. Doesn't work. Replaced the 0 (zero) with the letter O. No joy.

Maybe a stupid question but does the red light on the fob light when you click a button? dead battery?

Fob works for sure as the light lit up when the buttons were pressed.

Is it a 433 or 315 mhz key?
I asked this recently, as both are available, but apparently all U.S D2's are 315 mhz

Thanks for the reply.

It's a 433 MHz key.

Would it be possible to check what my D2 uses?

Yes sir
If it's a U.S model truck, then that's the problem.
All U.S trucks use the 315mhz key.

Has anyone tried replacing the 315MHz receiver with a 433MHz receiver? 433MHz remotes are much cheaper than 315MHz, so having a bunch of programmed remotes in reserve is very affordable.
