Default Fixed my low voltage

Had the m s light come on twice in 3 weeks ultra gage has always read 12.3 to 12.9 volts replaced the alternator now getting 13.5 13.9 volts even the Windows go up and down quicker now just have to fix the drivers door lock actuator wonder if the low voltage overtime made the actuator work harder and break

Probably not, low voltage burn out of motors take operating for an extended time in a "brown out", the lock motors only run for a second or less.

That new voltage is still not up into the 14 volt range. Who's alternator did you use, my money is you bought a cheap rebuild.

IMHO, a digital meter reading at the battery terminals may produce a slightly higher and "in spec" reading. The Ultra Gauge is plugged into the electrical system, but is not at the point where normal measurements are made. Connections and in particular semiconductor junctions (like polarity protection diodes) drop voltage a little, like 1/2 a volt. So at the battery may well be 14.4.

Very True Savannah. I just checked again, on both the UG and the Battery.

Key On, Engine Off

Key On, Engine Running

and the age old question comes in as to which is more accurate. You can put six meters on a bench, and have six different readings.
