Hey Motorhead1, I'll let you know how things go for me. My first big test run will be to FT Belvoir, VA in late June.
Until then I have to get the kit, install it and try some local runs to get used to the new gear.
Can't wait to give it a go!

I flat tow my D2 behind my 31 ft Coachmen. Started out with an $89.00 tow bar from harbor freight and no brakes. The E450 v-10 pulls the Disco well. Stopping was a different story though.

I've since upgraded to a 10K Blue Ox tow bar and a Brake Buddy system. All in, utilizing craigslist, I have all I need to safely flat tow for under $800.

It looks like you attached the tow bar to an aftermarket steel bumper? Is that correct?

Yes, just the basic winch bumper offered by AB or Lucky 8.

What is the steel work hanging down under the bumper? Is that the tow bar mount?

I'm getting the baseplate, towbar, light kit and the aux braking system.
Looks like you have the Ford E450 - how does that perform when towing the Disco?

No. That is the original support to the plastic bumper cover. This picture was actually taken before I added the tow brackets. I just left the lower bash bar on there thinking maybe I'll use it as a lower support for a skid plate one day.

The V-10 loves rpms and gas!! I averaged 7.5 miles per gallon pulling the LR 365 miles. The RV was empty as we had just taken delivery. I can't say what the MPG will be after we load her down.

That's expected. It's all part of the adventure!! I'll let you know how Mbale (my 02 Disco) mates up with the Forester! I'm glad you have already blazed the trail.
