It has a tow rating of 7700 pounds. Thats more than my 2010 v8 RAM. That is a big rating. So I disagree. It's made to tow. The rating seems very generous though

Considering our red line, I wouldn't. These aren't F1 or Nascar engines designed to spin at that RPM for a few hours. And those guys rebuild or discard their motors after a race. Our bearings aren't designed for yhat type of load. Maybe for a couple seconds here and there......but not a few minutes.

Well the speed limit is 65 on the major highways, but I could hang with the semis going 30 I guess

I know what you mean, whenever I pull my snowmobile trailer up a grade, it won't stay locked up in 3rd gear and wants to shift into 2nd. You have to rev the snot out of the engine to maintain 50mph. This has to be the crappiest tow vehicle I've ever owned. If it had a manual transmission it sure would be a lot better.

Thats a good point: if I could manually leave it in 3rd I'd be happy. I hate how it unlocks. Its like I hear the torque converter screaming "please kill me"

Curious, what size tires are you running? With that lift you must have some pretty large tires. I run that road quite often, running 265/75/14's and 4:11 gears and can easily hold 70 plus. If you want some help figuring out how to improve your power, PM me your number and lets talk.

Yea, 265/75/15 for me and I know that doesn't help.
Is there a way to change gearing?

I disagree that it isn't a tow vehicle. I daily drive mine and tow with it on an almost weekly basis running 32s and stock gears. Not to say she isn't sluggish, but I never have to go over 3k if I don't want to.

As for the supercharge question, it's been done in Australia I think with some minor success and I believe there were even kits at one point years ago running, perhaps, an Eaton m90? Personally I've been looking into slapping on a Garrett t3/t4 and running 5 lbs of boost. I've got the parts list lined up, now I just need a thousand bucks to buy all the parts and do all the work.
