Trust me on this, replace it cause after running Dexcool, the inside of the t/stat is starting to disolve.

There is no "locating" it. It's external, and was in your way while changing the coolant. It's the off white thing that looks like an artificial heart with all your coolant hoses going to it right behind the radiator on the passenger's side.

Be glad that it doesn't have a drain ****. It would just be another thing that could leak coolant.

Past what you just learned, the motor is pretty much a 1960's style push rod V8 with fuel injection bolted to it. So if you're ever worked on old pickup trucks, you'll not be surprised when you see what's under that massive upper intake.
