Frame rot
You may have a caliper hanging up, from sitting so long. And a lot of rust on rotors, so pedal may feel a little weird (quishy) at first...but should get better after several miles (10 or so). Another known issue on these things would be the master cylinder, did all three of ours (and once l get the engine in old whitey, someday...l imagine it will need one too). Easy job, couple bolts, bench bleeding master cylinder, install and then bleed brakes at each wheel. Surprisingly, considering the amount of rust we deal with up here...all four bleeder screws broke loose without any issues, on all three rovers so far (make that four, bled the defender last week). Sprayed them down with WD40 for a few days prior, and spun right out.
So, lengthy post her a women thing...oh boy...that's not good...some of my PM's to you could better be described as short novels...lol. Lori's always like, as l'm hen-pecking away, "who are you writing the novel too?" I'm like..."Christina." "Oh, okay."
Brian.

Speaking of hen pecking...
We're glamping this weekend and surrounded by chickens. lol...I feel like I'm in good company. This black one sat on our porch stoop for over 20 minutes...of course I talked to her and she answered back. I have no idea what she was saying but I imagine it had something to do with her tail feathers as she kept turning around and showing them off. Vain little things
Back to the real world tomorrow...Thanks CollieRover for the heads up on the other frame source...good to know that there are other options. Still leaning toward galvanized but I probably could get that done somewhere too. Brian pointed out a frame last week for 300 or so...there are deals to be had.
Thanks for the tips on the master cylinder, Brian. I wouldn't be surprised if that was the issue. The caliper was stuck in April but didn't seem hot when I brought her home. Next thing to get checked out. Just got new Nokians put on the Jeep last week so trying to space out the 'pain'.
As for the lengthy post haha...I was reading your response this morning, while hubby was getting ready. He heard me laughing in the kitchen and came out later and said 'what were you laughing over earlier?' I said 'Brian responded to my forum post and I thought what he wrote was funny'
I then pointed outside at the hens!
Hope you guys are having a great weekend!!!

Check the vacuum line that goes into the intake on the passenger side mine was both lose and cracked, I trimmed it with a pipe cutter put abit of silicone around the outside and I have a good firm pedal.
You could start with some brake maintenance, maybe trying to depress each caliper first to determine a stick/seizes caliper(and which one), removing guide pins and asses lubrication and clean/lubricate, also brake fluid assessment, check pad movement for sticking or binding in caliper bracket. Little things could be had for just time tradeoff, before actually spending on parts. Just as a little info.
300 for a frame is awesome. If you could blast it, galvanize it, seal then rustproof that would be great. I don’t know if there are places that galvanize like that everywhere.

Crazy past couple of weeks. Haven't done anything with Bertha as have been overwhelmed with work and appointments. Hoping I have some time to delve into her over the weekend. Thanks for the brake tips, Atkins
I'll definitely look into it.
