I agree 100%. Defender is by far the most rugged Land Rover being made right now. But our Disco I/II's are def more rugged than the LR3/4. Personally, id be afraid to scratch a shiny LR4.

Unless you're filthy rich and use your LR4 as an off-road vehicle. In fact the LR4 and the Jeep Commander are basically the same price with equivalent equipment, which in the Commander means it's fully loaded. If I had the choice I'd buy the LR4 without wondering. And from what I read the LR4 won a whole buch of awards in Europe.

You could be right but the way things fall apart on my DII and my daughters , i might not thnk the same...my friend got his wife a LR3 but they dont off road so i really dont know. After seeing what urban offroad did to one i think i may disagree. I might just shoot them a email to ask...

I'm 6'3" and about 300 lbs, and I feel fine in my Disco.

Not that i'm aware of... are you sure it was Motor Trend?
I know it got Bloombergs car of the year award...
In 05 the LR3 was SUV of the year.

I think the Freelander would make a nice second vehicle.... IF it had a diesel engine!
