Does anyone know where I can find a stock bumper for 200-300$ my son just recently bought his first car and I want to get him one for his birthday, thanks in advance !

 

ebay is my go to for parts....Plenty of 02's in that price range. The 03's go for more....Color matching may be more of the issue....

 

It's going to cost about that much for shipping alone if you check the Ebay listings. I recommend you find some junkyards close to you and see if they have some Discovery 2s on the yard or wait a while til some pop up. Unless you can get a killer deal on one from someone on here or near where you live. Beyond that I recommend getting the cheap steel bumpers that everyone gets, it will run you a little over 500.

The bumpers are known for breaking easily as the plastics are very brittle on these vehicles. For whatever reason the rear bumpers are broken 80% of the time on the ones I see and the fronts are still good, but it can go either way. I consider myself extremely lucky that I found a pristine rear one at a junkyard one day and paid maybe a 10th of the cost as finding one online, but I would love to have steel bumpers front and back.

 

I have one that I am planning to remove to install a steel bumper with winch. It does have a small crack on the top covered with some tape right now. I have been too busy working on other things to get to that but if you are interested let me know. It is on an 02 and bumper is black. I would take a better picture but the rover is not with me right now. Also I can't tell if yours is fitted with the fog lamps as the one that I have is.
