So, I've taken the family out for our median journey in the Disco. Nice drive on some forest road and down into a sleepy little Appalachian Trail town for some lunch. Get back to the vehicle and find a note with name, phone number and insurance info. They have backed into my beloved Disco and enhanced the crack in my bumper cover. I've been searching for good used covers with no luck. AB has them (out of stock) for about $900. What to do? I'm going to call the driver and insurance company tomorrow, but I don't know what is fair? I've been thinking of an aftermarket winch bumper and this may be the ticket to subsidize that purchase.
Have them cut you a check for the price of repair, including labor, from a pro body shop. Buy yourself that steel bumper, a winch to go in it, and a small lift.
Lucky 8, forum sponsor, sells a nice steel bumnper. I believe it is made by Brit Part. I have one, looks good, I dont beleive it holds a winch if you are looking for that. I was able to find some fog lights that fit in the jack points. I use those more than I would the jack point. The light bar is from Lucky 8 also.

That's what I did too, though I grabbed the winch bumper variant from Lucky8 (also made by Britpart). Super sturdy, high clearance, and looks great, plus it's like $600. https://lucky8llc.com/collections/di...eel-heavy-duty
