The U-joint needs to replaced with a greasable one and the centering ball needs to be replaced. If he does not know that take it elsewhere.

If he doesn't know how to rebuild a double cardon while replacing the u-joints and a new centering ball, you don't want him touching it.
Would you be OK having to tell your Dr. how to perform a procedure on you??
Seriously, if he screws it up, you will be buying a new tranny, and I know he won't offer to replace it for free.

Call up a heavy truck repair shop and ask who rebuilds their driveshafts.
