Front end rebuild
I recently hit a massive hole in the road on my passenger front end. Now my front end feels loose. Took it in and Im being told my front end on that side needs rebuilt. What does that entail and what kind of parts if anybody knows about this. They are quoting me about 2K just for labor.
Any help would be greatly apprcted.
Thanks, Joe

WTF are these guys neurosurgeons in their spare time?
For $2K you could replace everything (parts & labor) on the front end almost twice. And I'm NOT talking about if you did the work yourself.
Please don't let them B$ you.....There's NOTHING special about doing a repair on a Land Rover (any model) font end.
I'm with jastutte, get a FULL DETAILED LIST of what this shop wants to replace. Post it here, AND then RUN!
Sorry to say it, and not that you are but this is what the shop is thinking....

I am with all the rest, that is insane, my bet is a blown tie rod end (s) most common damage from big potholes. If that is the case heavy duty Terrafirmas are around 200 US for the set - rods and ends. Up here in Canada 280 for install and alignment. Or in my case 80.00 for the alignment, the rod myself.
It is possible you need ball joints but that is hard to say.

Can it be that they know that it's a ball ache of a job and have decided to price themselves out of the job or at least get paid well for the blood, sweat and oxy acetylene that it will take to do them, is that for just one side or both? I can't imagine they'd think it a good idea to do just one side and not both?
