Default FRONT END VIBES !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 01 DISCO

On my 2001 disco 11 i have a vibration at 45 or 50 mph to 55 or 60 mph on accelaration. When braking hard from 60 -65 to about 50mph. Could this be warped rotors or maybe the dampener for steering? Best forum in the world

mine has a vibration from 45-50, nothing wroung with it, you might have unalinged tires.

60-550 while baking hard? Thats the ABS isnt it?

Have your front driveshaft checked out. They will need to remove it from the truck to get a good look at it.

Let us know what they find.

I agree with Spike, with one exception, do not drive it for any reason till someone can look at it.
If it fails, it will take your tranny with it.
How mechanical are you?

Spike and Mike's suggestion is not to be taken lightly, but in my experience this was caused by a bad tire. As soon as the right front blew, my vibration from 65 to 76 went away. I figure it was a bad radial or whatever inside the tire.

I now have since developed a vibration at the same speeds and I'm 99% positive it's a wheel balance issue. I'm going to have them balanced and rotated this weekend.

Tires can always be a problem as can the drive shaft, that when failed will take the tranny out.
Any D2 must be inspected for the front u-joint issue, if it is found that the u-joints in the double cardon do not have grease fittings, it must be rebuilt ASAP because it will fail.

If you have a vibration, there is a problem.
Alignment does not cause a vibration and ABS does not activate at 60 MPH unless you are in the middle of a panic stop.
I would suggest you have some one spend some time seeing what is wrong with your truck.

i had the same thing happen to me and it turned out to be my u joints were all messed up. only cost about $45 to get some new u joints and i was able to do it in my high school auto shop. not hard at all as long as you are able to get to the drive shaft.

Thanks for the help, I already replaced the front driveshaft after the expensive lesson. BIG HOLE IN THE SIDE OF TRANNY!!!!!!!!
It is not an emergency stopping issue so could it be rotors or the steering damper. Ireplaced the front tires but therears are shot.
Thanks, Geoff
