Front Passenger Door Replacement, Rushing Wind on Highway
The front passenger door on my Disco II 2004 SE was replaced poorly by an incompetent shop, and at 50mph windnoise sound is rushing, at true highway speeds it’s plain loud. If I push my finger up against the inner rubber seal that the door shuts against, I can just barely make out a thin strip of daylight, essentially a tiny gap. Also, if I look up at the top edge of the door frame at highway speeds, I can see it shake slightly, clearly indicating it’s not seated right. The shop supposedly readjusted three times to fix it, after I repeatedly took it back, and it was the same every time I got it back, so I gave up. They also replaced the wheel plastic trim wrong and it was already coming off, at the shop, and they blew it off and didn’t fix it. Horrible shop my insurance sent me to. But I digress.
Any ideas on how to fix this?

Also try loosening the bolts that hold the upper black frame into the door and leaning it towards the D2’s cab. That is sometimes all you need to do and the bottom of the door can be adjusted spot on, but you’ve always gotta check the upper door frame alignment. It’s honeslty not a one piece door frame, it has the lower door frame/body with a bolted on upper door frame.
I personally would tell the insurance company and force them to either pay you for your time and find a new shop.
I had a bad experience where my insurance company basically sat in the repair bay with me and we forced the repair shop to do it right.
But, since you are not me follow what Best4x4 said.

Thanks a bunch Best4x4. I’m on a trip in Colorado now so I’ll give it a shot when I get home.
This was a year ago, and one of the shop’s incompetencies was constantly delaying and holding my truck longer than they should have needed each time they took it. I had to go without it for a total of nearly a month, working out just having one car in my family, while they wasted my time again and again. So taking it back a fourth time was just out of the question.

I've been screwed by insurance companies and **** poor body shops in the past. When my 98 D1 LSE 50th Anniversary was rear ended the only thing I did at a body shop was get a quote per the insurance company of the guy that hit me (**** poor Travelers Insurance). Once we went back n forth for nearly two months we finally settled on a price, I went to my local pick n pull and grabbed the parts I needed for say 200.00 and then I bought my 99 D2 with the rest. I'm not a body shop, but I'll try the work myself before I get screwed by another body shop. I know several people that paint really really good in my area so that's nothing.
Hope it works out and keep us posted.
