or they can be on the end caps, as well. Here's one without the nipple screwed on yet...

If you know it's only been 10000 miles since the last lube, I think you'll be ok. Just lube until nothing but fresh grease is coming out of every joint. That way you *know* it's lubed with fresh grease.

I have an aftermarket front shaft, so I have 7 fittings between the two shafts- 4 u-joints, 2 in the shafts themselves, and one on the centering ball.

Opinion seems split between the green grease and the lucas red high temp. Because the shafts are close to the exhaust, many people like the high temp grease. I was going to use Mobil 1, changed my mind and went with the lucas. But I'm pretty sure it isn't synthetic, so I'm talking myself back into M1 or maybe Amsoil for the next time.

I would recommend that you use a synthetic grease and try to get in the habit of doing it every oil change and if you don't change your own oil don't count on the guy at the jiffy lube to grease it because he probably will skip it and just nod his head yes when you ask him unless you have a long relationship with the establishment. That front drive shaft has always has high temp all around it and that alone causes the grease to dry out quicker and should not be skimped on. Skimping on this can lead to a large repair bill.

Getting an upgraded one from Dynamic. And adding it to the maintenance list that I already do every oil change
