FRONT SQUEEKING/VIRBRATION
Well, I've been reading all coments pertaining to the front axle and driveshafts and it seems I might be having to rebuild or get new driveshafts. I have a 2000 disco 2 with 95k on the clock, when I accelerate by either slamming it or regular acceleration I get a sqeeking noise, at about 10 to 35 or 45 mph while accelerating it vibrates rather hard until I take my foot off and all is normal. If anyone can point me to a good place to get parts I'd appreciate it, Thanks!!!

What is the condition of you tires? Reason I am asking, the original Wrangler HP tires were notorious, for causing vibration as you described when the are towards the end of life cycle (besides being extremely noisy), which is anything in excess of 30K miles, doing just 4 tire rotation.Mine original firs setdid that. Then, the second set did the same after about 42K miles with 5 tire rotation method. Finally, the third set I installed were MichelinsXPC 4X4, which have been proving themselves a much better choice.

At your mileage, your drive shafts are ready for some attention.
Do you have a rear rotoflex at the rear diff, is it starting to crack, how often do you lube your u-joints, have the front u-joints at the t/case been replaced yet and have you ever installed and lubed the slip shafts on both drive shafts?

RE: FRONT SQUEEKING/VIRBRATION
MY TIRES ARE IN TIP TOP CONDITION, HAD THE TIRE FOLKS CHECK THEM OUT, MICHELIN XPC 4X4. TODAY I HAD THE DAY OFF AND DECIDED TO TAKE A LOOK DOWN THERE. NEEDLESS TO SAY, THERE WAS 1 U-JOINT THAT WAS BROKEN AND THE OTHER WAS VERY DRY, SO UP WENT THE TRUCK AND OFF CAME THE FRONT DRIVESHAFT. I READ JUST ABOUT ALL I COULD FIND ON DOUBLE CARDAN JOINTS AND STARTED TAKING OFF THE U-JOINTS. WENT AHEAD AND BOUGHT GREASABLE SPICER JOINTS (2), A NEEDLE GREASE ATTACHMENT, AND SOME GREASE FOR THE GUN. LOW AND BEHOLD WHEN THE LAST JOINT CAME OFF, ABOUT 3 LITTLE ROLLER BEARINGS, SMALLER THAN THE ONES ON THE JOINT CAPS, WERE STUCK INSIDE WHERE THE SPRING IS. NOW MY QUESTION IS THIS... ARE THEY PART OF SOMETHING THAT WAS BROKEN OR DO THEY BELONG ON THE INNER WALL OF THE BALL SWIVEL? UP TO THIS POINT I'M QUITE LOST, I TOOK THE LIBERTY OF TAKING A FEW SNAPSHOTS, IF THERE IS ANYBODY OUTHERE WHO COULD GIVE ME SOME INSIGHT, I'D APPRECIATE IT. - THANKS
