They come in all states of aggravating

I was finally able to turn the fitting on the rubber. (no leaks!)

Next time, it's getting a hose and clamp style filter.

luck,greg

Which bolts? An impact wrench or driver become useful in situations like this. Obviously a torch is not the most prudent tool in this situation.

I bought a new filter w/o nut and extra hose and clamps with the plan to cut out the old filter and replumb the new one. But decided to give it one last try.... nuts where starting to round over so broke out the vise grips and what do you know. Just replaced the old filter.
Thanks for the suggestions.

A little anti-seize on the fitting threads goes a long way to making it easier next time.

I replace my fuel filter once a year to help prevent this from happening.
I went through the same trouble as you only I had to actually cut the nuts off of the old fuel filter.
I cut them length wise and then split them open.
Since that took me 4 hours and I am not looking forward to doing that ever again I just spend the $12 every spring and change the filter.
I also use anti seize on the threads so now the job takes all of 15 min.
