Fuel leak?

Fuel leak?
Hey everyone! I'm new to the forum and the discovery culture. Just got my truck a few weeks back, it's in pretty decent condition. Runs really well. Just last week, I noticed that the fuel tank had wet spots running down it, and there was this smell of gas. So I knew I had a fuel leak. It was fine since though, even made a 6 hour trip last week through the mountains no problem. Just today though, it died at a red light. The rpms sorta just dropped and then it died. Anyone know what could have caused it? I'm thinking it might be either a leak in one of the lines that caused it, like maybe too low fuel pressure? Or maybe a bad sender unit? Input would be great! Thanks!

Welcome to the forum.
The issue could be low fuel pressure due to fuel leak, bad fuel pump, bad fuel pump relay or bad crankshaft position sensor (CPS/Cpk)... or all the above.
First sort out that fuel leak, and second, check your Disco 2 for fault codes with an OBD diagnostic tester. Post all the codes here.

My 95 Disco had the vent hose neck on the tank detach. When I filled the tank all the way, some leaked out from the fitting. I have fixed it twice, but the thing keeps coming detached. I have tried JB weld and am still trying to find a permanent fix without replacing the whole tank. I had no trouble with it running though and still drive it almost every day.

Hi.
Dealt with the leak a few days ago.

Ended fine but could had it done by just plugging the 'white cross' with epoxy/jweld instead.

Shows the fuel puddled on the 'white cross'
And found the black pressure sensor is transplantable to a new pump that does not feature it by drilling a hole at the correct location.
