Default full battery,, turns on doesn't crank.

I had the pleasure of being stranded after work today, definitely not fun.

My battery has full power, and when i turn my key it does not crank. It is not turning over. The dash lights that come on are the check engine, oil and battery. I took the batter to get tested at a parts place and it's good.

I haven't had this problem before so I have to ask they pros what you think?

Crankshaft position sensor. On drivers side where engine mates to transmission behind the exhaust manifold.

Hit the starter with something. Do you get a click, anything?

How old is the battery? Do the lights dim when you turn the key?

Another thought: One time I remember I unlocked my door and went to get in and it did the same thing yours is doing. I took the key out and hit unlock again and put the key back in and it started. Not sure if it was the immobilizer or what caused it, I never really looked into it after that.

The battery is strong, I don't know why the immobilizer would kick in. I basically drove to work and when I went to leave it wouldn't start. no dimming of the lights and everything works good.
when i turn it, it makes a click. but I think that click but I don;t think that is from the engine.

It's not cranking or turning over. I have no previous ignition problems.

If it was the starter wouldn't I have warning signs before hand? If it was the crank sensor, wouldn't it still crank, but not start?
