Default Funky stuff going on in my shuttle valve

Hi,

I've had the three amigos since I bought the car, it's throwing a shuttle valve fault. There was a sticker on the side showing that it was rebuilt at some point, but I had a feeling that it was done poorly.. When I got the shuttle valves out, it didn't look quite like what a shuttle should look like. There seems to be some black silicone along with transistors/resistors/capacitors added to the wiring.

I'm going to do option b of the repair, take the transistors out and rewire it all nice and neatly...

My question is, what might the purpose of this be? Specifically the extra electrical component I've never seen in anyone else's shuttle?

Well, I put it on my multi-meter and both switches passed. I guess this isn't what's causing the fault. Probably best not to mess with it at this point eh?

I would remove the added electronics and then test the shuttle valves. Looks like someone added the electronics to get the shuttle valves to read correctly or something. Is that brake fluid on the shuttle valve. If so you need to get the seals kit from falconwerks and a new shuttle valve and then do option b, and you should be set. If the valves are testing good just go ahead and do the mod.

If the test passed, then do the mod, the problem is in the connection to the board inside the abs, and the mod will bypass that.

There's a very small amount of brake fluid on one of them, and the other has slightly more fluid, but still just a little.

If the valve's test fine after the mod, is there a point in ordering new valves? And is this the seals kit you're referring to? Discovery shuttle valve seals & new style reaining clips

I looked into the rest of the wiring... Does any of this look unusual to anyone? This looks a bit like a fuse holder, and there are new connections soldered on from the previous owner.

Any fun and exciting things I should know about how this repair was done and what may fail before I try to handle any of it?

Thanks for the replies guys, I really appreciate it.

the connector in the picture is has two wires from the abs control module. It powers the abs pump when called upon by the control module. Some kind of mod was definitely done on your abs. Maybe someone on here has seen that before. To me it obviously is not working, and can't understand how a simple mod could turn into this. Maybe PO cut the wires instead of disconnecting the connector. Again, just guessing, also IMO, if there is fluid on shuttle valves, it need seals. I would still cut the electronics added to the shuttle, remove the connector sticking up, solder two wires to the shuttle wires, connect one to the yellow/green wire coming out of the abs and ground the other. Then check to see if amigos are off. It probably is a matter of time before the fluid causes the valves to malfunction.
Yes that is the repair kit.
