Has anyone done A Pilar grab handles for drivers and passenger sides?

I think there is not enough metal for an appropriate grab handle support

 

Ok if that is the crap in the a pillar that won’t be fun.
I was thinking of a soft hand grab with rub it nuts in the pillar and notch the trim to allow it to come out

 

Speaking of grab handles, I was curious to know if Land Rover made Discovery 2's with the passenger grab bar in place of the SRS airbags? I've searched through the forums and only hear mentions of this.
I am seeing two vehicles advertised as Discovery 2 in Thailand here and here and am wondering if those are legitimate or a facelift to upsell the vehicle as something that it is not.
