If you have glass coverage they will replace it for free, including the heated one, just make sure they order you the heated one.

The heating elements are only on the very bottom where the wipers sit though so they can be un-frozen from the glass.
At least thats what ours has.

Mine has lines top to bottom. when I was driving home yesterday it was rainy. when I hit the button the entire windshield defogs. except that I have a perfect vertical line where the passenger side clears and the drivers side stays foggy. honestly the heat and air work so good on these I probably don't need this, but it's there and I'd like to make it work if I can.

I didn't know the windshields could be gotten that cheap

The prices they are talking about are for Kia's. A land rover windshield would probably cost a bit more, for a heated one. Insurance paid for most of mine... when I had it replace I asked to pay the difference to get the heated.

Default 2011 landrover windshield fuse is 15 & 18, in engine compartment

Mine was not in passenger side fuse box. Drivers side was not defrosting. After I replaced 15 under the hood, both sides work now. It's a 30 amp fuse.
