Has anyone ever lifted like this?
Ok, so I'm broke. Like, college student without a job almost dead broke. Still, my suspension is shot and I'd like to lift. I have a perfectly good set of stock rear springs sitting in my garage, which I've heard when placed in the front sit about 2" higher than stock. Could I use those in the front, buy a rear set of medium or heavy OME springs (~$130 from lucky 8), and some Monroe shocks until I can afford a proper lift? I'm hoping to get about 2.5" out of this. Any thoughts?
I know this is not the best option, but I feel like it's the best option for what I can afford. Just adds character, right?

That's about what I figured, but my current shocks are dead anyway. It will still work for a while though, correct? Other than the poor shock quality, you don't see any other snags in the plan?
for $499 you can buy a TerraFirma 2" heavy duty lift kit complete with coils and shocks from Rovers North. Maybe if you ask ZGPhoto for a discount he could hook you up. See your new stock springs and put some cash together and get this kit. COIL CONVERSION KIT HD TF +2" DSCO II , TF230 - Rovers North - Classic Land Rover Parts
