Talking Has anyone used a Long wire type ABS Sensor ?

Just curious. I am about to replace RF ABS sensor and came with the long cable type. I read somewhere you are supposed to replace the entire cable all the to ECU. Any help> Looks complicated to mess around with the ECU.

Thanks

I would save the cable just in case. Its probably not the proper way, but... I would be lazy and just swap the sensor out without changing the cable (especially considering the miles on your rig). If the problem persists, I would change the cable.

I tried the stock sensor that just plugs in to a socket behind the battery but failed. the long cable and sensor is one unit I will have to cut and make it fit.
Once I cut it can't put back together.

Thanks for your advice

Have you tested and confirmed it is the speed sensor and not a failing hub? I would do that then go for a sensor if needed. As the which to use, doesn't make a lot of difference as long as you keep the connection clean and use some dye electric, you will not have any issue with the original short wire version.
