Default Has started to jerk when shifting.

Here within the past couple of weeks the tranny has started to occasionally hesitate and jerk hard when shifting gears. It is not often, but getting more frequent.
Could this be some sort of computer or sensor issue, or is it more likely a sign of an impending tranny overhaul?

Just wanted to get your thoughts on it.
Thank you!

i would start by checking the fluid level, have you done that? and follow with a fluid and filter change

^+1 that's your issue. Do a filter and fluid change and the ZF will be back to happy

Thanks guys, that's what I'll do.
Took me a bit to figure out how to check the level, but it's still awkward to do. I'm going to have the shop change the fluid when I send it in to get the latest coolant leak chased down.
Thanks again for your input!

Mine used to do this thing where it would try to engage the torque converter lockup clutch while accelerating, but it would change its mind at the last minute, which created a jerking / abrupt "shift" that was quite alarming.

A fluid drain / refill and new filter made 90% of the problem go away. It still does it very seldom, but I attribute that to the 8+ quarts of old fluid that's still in there. (My drain + refill only replaced 4 quarts).

That's exactly what it feels like mine s doing. Might be the same issue.
I haven't had time to look it over because of work craziness, but have parked it until I can take it in to be serviced. I'm going to see if they'll flush out the transmission and refill it.

Don't flush it, just do a conventional fluid/filter change. Flushing could possibly cause some problems.

Thanks Dane,
Now that I think of it, the tranny was flushed by the dealer on my Dodge many years ago during a service and it refused to shift afterward until they drained and refilled it again. If I recall, they explained that the flushing caused a bearing or valve or something to get jammed.
