If I buy a used HawkEye diagnostic tool and it is programmed for a td5 anyone know the procedure and or cost to make it work for a v8 disco ?

 

If it's a HawkEye Total it'll do all Land Rovers.
I can't swear to this but if it's the older HawkEye Pro for a Disco 2 it'll be unlocked for a V8 and Td5.

Based on what's on my Hawkeye like the one pictured it should work on the V8. One caveat, however, is that the Hawkeye I have was owned by a DII owner in the Middle East, so it's possible it's different, but I doubt it.

Here are pics of my Hawkeye's first four screens from startup to selecting V8 or Td5. On the third screen EMS stands for engine management system, I presume. On the fourth screen the M 5.2.1 designation stands for Motronic, I presume. I know that it works on my V8.

 

Thanks I actually spoke with bearmach today and was told it should work but they would need the Serial number to confirm. The seller is not getting back to me now so whatever

also was told they don’t have or sell any codes for these older units as there is new Hawkeye now on the market.
