Head gasket job Questions

Did you check your crankcase pressure? It is almost impossible to conceive of the headgasket leaking oil a the rear of the engine. There is exactly one passage in the block for transmitting oil under pressure from the block to the cylinder head rocker arms and it is on the front of the block, not the back. It can be seen in the upper right corner of this photo. THe oil of course drains back to the crankcase at the rear of the block, but that is through the intake valley. More likely you have a plugged pcv baflle, a pressurized crankcase, and the pressure is forcing oil out of the rear under the intake manifold at the junction between head, block, and intake manifold and then running down the gap between block and head.
When the engine was running the oil was coming directly from under the head gasket. I am not sure how it could get there any other way. But I will take a closer look. The front of the head gasket is dry.
I also just put in a new little Oil separator deal, and disassembled the valve covers and they are super clean.

Got the head into the machine shop today. The valve seals were leaking, and there was oil on top of a valve he removed, so that is a possible leak culprit, but I am not sure the volume of oil that was coming out could have caused that.
He was skeptical I got it torqued down, and who could blame him, but we walked through the procedure, and it seemed like I did it properly. I am going to bring in my torque wrench and he is going to test it for me. He said that 70 foot pounds should have felt very difficult, and to memory it was not that difficult, wasn't easy, but maybe the torque wrench is bad.
The bad news is I get to do both Head Gaskets so I can have the other seals changed as well. So, there goes a good recommendation for my final report. Change the damn seals.
Anyway, I will keep the thread going until assembly which will be my Redux thread.
