Head gasket leak, after having heads done. Help?
Yes my thought is these things have been around a while now, and have been thru an owner or two. And probably an auction here or there. I would suspect any D2 with over a 100k could have possibly had head gaskets done once ,already.
Wasnt their some welding done to one of the heads? Who knows how much the machine shop had to remove to get the surface flat again
This thread is a good reminder to anyone dropping off a set of heads to be milled at a machine shop to make sure the machinist checks the tolerances before any work to be done...

Another thing to look for is if the shop has a blast furnace, if it doesnt then there only option is to grind aways.
there is a utube from a shop in ca. And you can tell y,this guy does everything possible using a furnace to make sure he is taking the only what he has too. Its a rover head too
