Use common sense.
You need a #3 or #4 Phillips to get the oil dip stick tube mouinted back to the block.
If you loose that screw, it will be hard to replace.

Study how to tighten the head bolts carefully.

First time around on the bolts 15 foot pounds.

Next time around turn them all 90 degrees.
Third time around all 90 degrees again.

I used a pipe - a gas pipe actually from Mc Guckin Hardware in Boulder, CO to give me leverage.

Hopefully you put in Victor Reinz head gaskets..

Torque the bolts to 70 -75 ft lbs and forget them. Do it in 20 lbs increments until final torque is achieved. The screw to secure the dipstick to the valve cover is a plain old sheet metal screw. Nothing Ace Hardware does not carry. Probably 1/4 inch long.

Interesting on the 70 LBS.
He may not have ARP studs.
But, 70 LBS seems safer so you will not strip out the head bolt holes.

I know that the torque on the stretch bolts sure feels like more than 70 LBS when I have a pipe on a 1/4 inch ratchet extension.

unless you are using an ARP Stud kit you should torque the heads the why the RAVE tells you too.
