Default Headlamp Conversion

OK. I have a 2002 DII and have heard that it is possible to swap out the lights for the newer 2003 lights. As I don't trust simply purchasing 'information' from Ebay I thought I would ask the group here. I am wondering if you simply pull out the lights and replace the headlight housings and bumper or if I need to learn how to weld and steal a front clip off of someone elses Discovery!

Yes, I only came up with 2 posts that were in response to a wrecked 99 Disco. I thought that there was a long discussion on it before, however I was unable to find it.

Had been considering this myself, but for one, it costs about a grand to do the job, and for two there's quite some fabing and cuting to do to make it work. so far it ain't so bad. but life experience has thought me to think about eventualities. One of them would be a front end accident. Wether its on the road, or an idiot that backs up in your truck while parked at the super market. Not sure if my insurance would agree to pay 3 times the price to replace what is suppose to be first edition D2 lights, and second, I doubt that a bodyshop would be able to work with damaged modified brackets. so until I can answer these questions, that project is on hold. AND....I have a killer deal on a 2003 HSE Range Rover which I am debating right now, so my disco might be for sale, I don't know...

If you can't do all the work yourself spend the money on a front and rear RTE bumper because it'll cost you about the same amount.
