I'm running 65W in my low beams, 100W blue in my high beams and soon 130W in my Hella 4000's on the bumper. I figure I'll stick the old 55w and 100w into side and rear lamps for lighting up night campsites.

I have used the blue high wattage bulbs in my 4x4 F350 and the visibility is terrible especially on black asphalt paving and wet roads. They also burned up my wiring harness on the headlights. I run SilverStars in my current truck and they work great. You can pick up the SilverStar Ultras on ebay for about $30 if you find the right seller. Stay away from the blue lights for sure though.

If you go Silverstar get a spare set, mine in my RSX would last about 3 months before burning out. (and yes I know how to install bulbs... )

i put these in. After i did, i had to adjust the light way WAY down. these things are bright. What i like most, is its not the blue crap. I have had blue, and it gives a nice light, but very little. Most suck. I aimed these well enough so the cut off is at the best point. They are bright, but i dont get flashed. ever. When i switch highs on, i can see the tops of trees about 40 feet high. i kid you not. I live out in the country, lots of back roads. and i could not ask for anything more!

I had the exact same thing happen with the silverstars. Put them in about four months ago and both were toast last month, just figured I got a bad set. I was glad I actually kept the originals and had them to put back in.
