Default heater

Ok, just hit around 20 degrees F outside and my heater desided to malfunction,(kicks on and off repeatedly) too dark to check the fuses now. Any other things I should check or head on up to LR of chattanooga?

I'm going to leave this one to Discomike, however on a Mercedes I owned with auto climate control units, if the coolant level was low, the auto system would kick the fan down for about 2 minutes, then kick it back on with heat then kick off again. Put coolant back in to the levels recommended and it functioned correctly. Have you tried the manual over ride for floor heat only? Logically if it does not stay on at all and shuts down then it will be an electrical issue, possible relay issue.

Are you talking about the fan or the heat from the heater?

Check it daily and keep it filled to the top of the lid. You are already allowing the engine to run hotter then it should which with time will cost you big time.

Has anyone fitted a real overflow tank? It would be nice to be able to add coolant when hot.
