"So are you saying that even though my tests on the fuse block indicated power in and out I should go ahead with the bypass surgery anyway?"

I'm saying that is what I did, and it worked for me. I don't know for sure if it will fix your truck (obviously) but it will only take an hour, and the process will eliminate one weak link and help you narrow down the cause, if it does not result in repair.

Note: when I did the the by-pass, I cut no wires. Power-in to the under box fuse panel for the blower is a dedicated (ie, the only circuit it feeds) line, as is power out. I removed the connectors, then extracted the individual conductors. They are simple female tabs. 1/4 inch on power-in, 3/16 on line out. Cut one tab of a maxi-fuse down to 3/16 to allow it to fit in tab. Plenty of wire to pull maxi-fuse out to front of under steering wheel area to make it accessible, right next to fuse panel.

Good luck, and let us know how it turns out.

Damn! Still no blower. I did the by-pass on the interior fuse block 0584 BR to 0581 BP with a 30 amp in-line fuse...nada. And now my rear fan which was working is now in-op as well. Checked power to the fuses and nothing to 6 and 7, makes sense right? They were by-passed. There IS power to the new in-line fuse.

Under the hood I have power at Fuselink 4 and at the BP wire at the connector.
Right now I am so twisted and confused I could use some help looking at this think straight. Thanks guys appreciate your time.

Whoops, never dawned on me that a "7" would have rear air. Mine does not.
To restore power to rear air, you can put everything back together, or do a three way splice and install a second in-line 25 amp fuse between power-in and the yellow wire with a green trace that feeds rear air.
Maybe the relay at C0153 near blower motor?

Yup will just get myself into trouble with the 3-way. I think the best way out now is to get a fuse block from the wreckers and put it all back together then take it from there. Thanks Nick.

After getting no results with the bi-pass at the fuses I picked up a fuse box and relay from the wreckers. Still no luck. So I went back and did a more thorough check of all the connector. Don't know how I missed it the first time but the connector behind the glove box (black/brown red) was rusted, I mean totally corroded. Spliced the wires together and she's good to go. Lots of screwing around with unrelated issues but now I know a little more electronics . Good luck with your blower issues.

Guys, I need some help. I know this is an old thread but it helped me determine that my fusebox was bad. I am transitioning from my 00 Disco to an 02 Disco (currently have both), so I swapped the inside fusebox over and now the fan works. Unfortunately now the truck won't start - alarm light is on!

I have tried the unlocking procedure to no avail - I think I may have a connector that is not connected (see photo) as a result of pulling the fusebox out - but I cannot find it's mate for the life of me. I have searched all through the Rave and there are two connectors that match this shape, one on the steering column and one on the left side kickpanel for the door harness - but all of those are currently connected. So I can't find where this connector connects and I am thinking surely this is not "extra". Anyone have any idea where I can look for the mate - I am thinking this has to be part of my no start problem?

Found the problem, had a hood latch out of adjustment, was not making the switch. Adjusted the latch, hit the inertia switch reset, 3 door lock procedure - she runs!

BTW, that wire harness is extra - on both of my trucks!

Hoping to resurrect this old thread. I'm going to do the bypass in my 99 D2 and would like to see pics of the project completed. Any of you has any? Thanks.
