Heater hose cutoff?
I have a Nissan Titan and it suddenly decided to stop blowing heat. My miniature wife gets cold when you open the refrigerator door in the other end of the house, so that wouldn't do. I researched a little and found that the Titan has a motorized valve right there in the engine compartment that cuts the coolant off when cold air is desired or the system is off. I messed with the little plastic thing and it started working again.
Flash back to yesterday before I charged my new compressor on the Disco. Driving down the road... warm air coming out with the system off.
So do we have a valve like that? Any reason why we can't?

I don't think we do, but I see no reason why we couldn't. That said, the only time I've ever had my vents blow hot with the system off is when I had the heat on before I turned it off. If I turn the air back on, turn the temp all the way down, and then turn it back off. Always seems to fix the issue.

Yea, best I can figure is that there's a motorized flap in the air vents, not in the coolant line as with your Titan (nice trucks by the way). Pretty much every vehicle I've ever driven has worked that way, except our Mustang which when you turn the air off there is no air bleed at all through the vents. Odd.

A manual shutoff may help you.

Nope, I'm not bathed in warm air unless it's a.) hot outside, or b.) I have the heat on.
I love the heat. Florida in July is the best. I'm like you, I just use Windows. Really even if it's raining I'll still leave my windows down. As long as you're moving these bricks don't really seem to drag the water into the windows. If it really comes a downpour I'll roll them up some, but still not all the way.
